Marantz 2270 restoration-modification as described below with work done.

Total Premium audio grade electrolytic capacitor recap performed with USA , Canadian sellers.Some modern low noise transistors and diodes installed for improved performance.
All Marantz Service Bulletins performed.
Featuring Kemet EU audio grade, Elna Silmic II, Nichicon premium audio series capacitors.
On-Semi, Fairchild low noise transistors and diodes from USA Mouser Electronics.
Upgraded Main Filter capacitors to 15,000uF 63V Kemet EU audio grade.
Power Supply recapped with 470uF 250V Nichicon KX series snap-in Main,
Elna Silmic II 330uF's 50V,
10uF 100V, 3.3uF 100V,
Nichicon KA series 470uF 35V, 47uF 50V, Nichicon KL series 220uF 35V. New modern speaker relay switching transistors H808-809-810,
service bulletin preformed with modern twin contact Omron MY2-DC24 (S) speaker relay installed,
new modern Fairchild ultra-fast soft recovery IN4005 diodes H801-802-811-812-813. New Bourns precision trim pot installed for voltage adjustment.
Out of specification resistors replaced as needed.
New on-off E-Switch installed.
Amp board upgraded with Solens (France) MKP-FC 1uF 400VDC 5% input caps, Panasonic FC 47uF 50V, precision metal film 1% resistors installed in the feedback loop with Nichicon MUSE premium series BP 33uF 25V upgraded capacitor for improved performance. Marantz service bulletin performed replacing the original bias transistors H760 with a modern MJE243G part. New zener diodes installed at H762-763 for improved performance. Fly back UL4004 diodes installed across the output transistors as a protection circuit. Re greased original output transistors with Dow 340 silicone compound.
Out of specification resistors replaced as needed.
Tone board recapped with upgraded Wima Film .033uF 250V input caps. Elna Silmic II 100uF 35V Main,10uF 50V secondaries, Wima film caps throughout signal paths.
All new modern On-Semi low noise transistors.
Phono board recapped Elna Silmic II
100uF 50V Main, Nichicon MUSE series BP 47uF 16V.
Service bulletin performed with new modern On-Semi low noise transistors installed at H705, H706. Older style varisors replaced with modern low noise equivalent
fairchild IN4148 small signal diodes.
AM board recapped with all Nichicon KL series.
FM mute and stereo decoder boards recapped with Nichicon KL series,KA series, Vishay axial.
FM MPX board recapped with Nichicon KL series, Nichicon FG series, Nichicon KZ MUSE premium series, Elna Silmic II.
AM-FM sections aligned according to the manual with my test equipment.
FM pulls in stations well in my area in stereo with good separation I would recommend a outside antenna for better reception.
( I will include a free FM dipole antenna with this unit ).

Elna Silmic RFS Electrolytics
Elna Silmic (ROS Series) & Silmic II (RFS Series) Electrolytic Capacitors
High-grade Silk fiber capacitors for Audio.
The
SILMIC
series are Elna's highest grade audio capacitors that exhibit superior acoustic characteristics. An entirely new type of electrolytic separating paper is used, containing silk fibers. The extreme softness of silk can mitigate vibrational energy (generated by the electrodes, by external vibrations and by electromagnetic fields). Due to it's new electrolytic and foil design the signal propagation speed has increased (the ESR is reduced) and a more powerful, yet-mellow, sound is possible than before. When these capacitors were subjected to aural evaluations, the high range peak and midrange roughness were reduced substantially. Also, the low range richness and power were increased in the obtained high-quality sound.

One of the best receivers ever made with amazing Vintage quality sound.
This Marantz 2270 sounds really good to me and does retain the good tube like warm sound Marantz is known for with nice tight bass response and articulate midrange and treble clarity. Great head room coming from the huge transformer as well. Wonderful sound from a 70 watt per channel higher powered receiver.
Dimensions  are 18 1/2" wide,16" deep front knobs to back, 7" tall with feet in Marantz WC-22 wood case.

As with all 40 plus year old Vintage Electronics this receiver is being auctioned or sold AS-IS. With no warranty but guaranteed to arrive not DOA which means not dead on arrival,( powering on when plugged in) and working as described.
