Technics RS-M255 Stereo Cassette Tape Deck Made in Japan 1983 w/ Service Manual!

This vintage Technics unit is in overall great condition.  There are some scratches on the top, and someone used red ink on the input level knob to make the line easier to see, but other than that it looks great.
It is tested and powers on, but it does need some servicing.  When you try to play tapes, the head doesn't engage.  Based on some quick searching, this is common for these units.  I wouldn't be surprised if it needed belts too.  I don't have the time to try to fix it - but fortunately for you both the instruction manual and Service manual are included!  Both have the serial number of the unit already written on them, so this has been a matching set since the handwritten date inside the instructions of 1/20/1983.  A great piece - please see photos!
