PIONEER SX-980 Classic Stereo Receiver Cleaned with Basic Service VG

CLASSIC PIONEER SX-980 VINTAGE 80 WATTS PER CHANNEL QUALITY STEREO RECEIVER SERVICED AND DETAILED IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. This is a vintage late 1970's Pioneer stereo receiver with a strong 80 Watts per Channel power with Excellent sound quality. These vintage receivers are known for their quality sound and excellent build quality. The receiver has the great looking silver brushed aluminum faceplate with metal knobs, lighted tuning scale, power meters, and real walnut wood veneer cabinet. The receiver has been serviced and the circuit boards were removed and has had all controls and switches cleaned and lubricated and is in Excellent working condition with clean sound. All adjustments as required were done including the idle current and DC offset voltage. The receiver is stock original with no electric component replacements. The circuit boards were inspected and no leaking capacitors were found and the boards are clean with no burning. All dial lamps and indicators are working and were replaced as needed. Power output is 80 Watts per Channel @ 8 Ohms which is underrated and this is a great receiver to connect a Phono turntable or CD player and even an IPOD device or listen to the AM/FM stereo radio. The receiver has a quality AM-FM tuning radio section and the radio section is in excellent working condition. This receiver can handle down to 4 Ohm speakers so a wide variety of speakers can be used and 2 pairs of speakers can be connected at Min 8 Ohms per speaker. Power output is good with up to larger speakers. The receiver has excellent tonal control with stepped Treble & Bass controls and a Loudness switch to boost frequency range at low volume. There are inputs for Phono 1&2, Tape 1, Tape 2, and AUX and the Tape and AUX inputs can be used for CD or DVD analog or IPOD device with adapter. You can also use this receiver for a microphone amplifier. There is Power Amp In and Pre Amp Out connects so these sections can be used separately if desired. The receiver has been thoroughly cleaned and the faceplate & knobs were hand polished and the receiver is in very good condition with some age wear.. The faceplate and knobs are in very good condition with a few small nicks and light scratches. The tuning knob and the bass knob have bent shafts so wobble somewhat when turned. The tuning knob was replaced with a different model Pioneer knob but are similar. The faceplate walnut wood side posts are good with some wear. The walnut wood cabinet has some wear with a few scratches and some edge wear and looks decent. Walnut wood restore was applied to the cabinet. The black heat grill was repainted. The rear panel is Excellent and all connects and the AM antenna are in excellent condition. The interior has been cleaned and there is some pitting on the inside and the transformer has been repainted. Included is a copy of the original Owner's Manual and a new dipole FM antenna.
