A lion-like creature, the Qilin or Kylin (Kirin: Japan).   The effigy of a Qilin is said to bring blessing to the good people and punishment to those of deal in badness.
Hand carved from a volcanic
Indonesian green river stone.
Measuring:  40" tall.     the base measures aprox.  20"x24".    pair weight 1490lbs.
