Georgian gold filled souvenir hair under glass memorial mourning pendant brooch

Description

Today I am selling a fantastic Georgian memorial mourning brooch. An oval section in a gold filled frame contains overlapping or braided blond hair. On top of the hair is a gold (most likely high carat) design that includes a bow holding weeping willow branches under a plaque that says 'souvenir', which means memory in French. The whole thing is covered by a thin piece of domed glass. The gold filled frame has an etched design. The pin is a little loose but stays securely in the C clasp. A tiny loop and jump ring have been added to the piece behind the hinge so it can be hung as a pendant.
CONDITION: Excellent for its age. No chips, cracks, or scratches to the glass. Minor tarnish to the gold filled metal, mostly on the back.
CIRCA: Late Georgian era (early 1800s)
MEASUREMENTS: almost 1 5/8 inches long (not including extended pin) and a little over 7/8 of an inch wide
