OMG!!! Look what Daisy and I have for you now! This is a GORGEOUS GEORGIAN ring. This I had to spend a little time on the interweb researching the hallmarks to find a little history, which is of course why I am in the antique jewelry business to begin with. Who was the wealthy woman that this belonged to? It has traveled through history, starting out in the United Kingdom and has found it's way to Alaska. So without further adu, here is some history I have found on both the ring and the hallmarks on the inside (please reference photos to see the hallmarks):SH (maker)
9 375 = 9 ct gold
Sideways Anchor - means this ring went through the assay office in Birmingham, England
f (in a square with cut corners) - This is the date letter. Through research on-line using London and Birmingham hallmarks, f stands for the year
1803!
Band - 9 ct (375) rose gold, 5 mm's in width
12 white seed pearls, all between 2 and 3 mm's
7 green stones, all beautifully clear, unknown if they are emeralds or simply green paste, all 2 mm's in size
1 opal, 2 mm's in size
