    - ENGLISH TRANSFERWARE
    SMALL TUREEN
    Four Pieces:
    Bowl, Lid, Platter
    & White Ladle (with chip and repair).
    Probably 1940's.
    SIZE:
    approx. 9 inches Long,  7 inches Wide, and 9 1/2 inches High.
    The PLATTER is approx. 10 1/2 Long and 8 inches Wide.  There are NO MARKS.
    The LADLE is ALL White and has a chip near the spoon and an old repair at the top of handle.
    There is a
    RED on WHITE
    "CASTLE SCENE" on the body of the Tureen.
    The LID with Open Handle has a "Landscape Scene" which is a continuation of the Castle Scene.
    The PLATTER has a FLORAL DECORATION around the edge.
    The "as is" LADLE is White.
    This is a very serviceable item that looks splendid on a table.  It's just the right size for a small gathering and soup or pasta salad presented with style.
    When not in use the TUREEN makes a wonderful sculptural image on sideboard or in display cabinet.
