Antique 19th c WATTEAU Burslem Doulton Blue Flow Tureen & Lid Bowl + Underplate
Up for sale is a very handsome antique porcelain Burslem Doulton Watteau blue flow soup tureen or serving bowl with spoon slotted lid with a matching underplate tray.  The pieces are decorated with scenes of 17th / 18th century scenes of lovers / musicians.  The tureen has double handles and the lid is embossed with leaves and a loop handle.  The piece is 6" tall to the top of the handle and 3.5" tall to the rim of the bowl.  It's 4.5" in diameter at the rim and approx. 5.75" at its widest diameter.  The underplate is 7.25" in diameter, not counting the handles and it's
8.25" at the handles.  The tureen is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks--there are some natural pits in the porcelain because this is an old piece and that was part of the crafting process in that era.  The lid has one tiny nick on the inside underneath inner rim--not visible unless is upside down and it's very minor (in my photo of that side of the lid it's the little spot at about the 3 o'clock spot).  The underplate has no chips, cracks or breaks--there is some browning of the porcelain from aging.  One of my photos shows residue from a sticker--it's not damage.  I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but believe it to be at least late 19th century if not older.
